Reviews
We like Whole Foods because it offers healthy options and since we live in Andover, we visit the branch near us pretty often. The food from their hot bar, when available, is prepared well and tasty with some exceptions here and there. It’s very disheartening that the majority of the time the hot bar is left empty with very little option. It would be nice if someone looks into that. It would also be convenient if they allow cash in at least one of their self checkout cashiers.
I took these photos at around 8:45 am and as you can see the hot bar is not offering much to pick from. 🥺
Catering review: The food was not worth the price at all and would not have fed 8 people. The ham was marked $45 which means I was charged $125 for Mac and cheese for 4, green bean casserole for 4 and mashed potatoes for 4 and some glaze. The green beans were in a layer of water and looked mushy in the packaging and the fruit platter (when we opened it to eat it) had worms on it.
I called to return the food (on the same day after I checked it when I got home) with the online number and was told I had to drive back to Andover (am not in the area). When I called Andover they said I could return it to any Whole Foods. I then drove to a different Whole Foods (Cambridge Street) and after 2 store members could not figure it out they got the manager Kenny. While examining the food he said "I make my own food" in my response to my statement that this would not feed 8 people and I had no idea how it all cost $170.
After some research he said I had to drive it back to Andover for a refund because they do not have it in the system. After another call to the catering number I was told I would receive a refund vie email and since that has not happened I now have to spend another day driving this food back to Andover.
In the end, I ended up buying an entire new order of food from the store directly on 12/23 because the catering was an absolute disaster. Luckily the store in Boston was well stocked and I bought food to make and still have the catering order sitting in my trunk for return...
We are regulars at Wholefoods Andover MA, but were very disappointed with our recent honey purchase. The “local” label sets two expectations: (1) that the product is locally produced and (2) that the product did not travel long distances to get here. This product may have met the first expectation (but with my shaken confidence I can’t be certain) but since the label claims in small print that it was “packed in Colorado”, it certainly doesn’t meet the second. Tsk tsk Wholefoods.
Whole Foods is a fantastic store .... I loved .my very first visit 👍
Of course - A HUGE amount of their items are seriously over-priced .... Of course 😔
But .... Definitely was worth it-- and I will return for sure 😃
Thank You
Oh yes !! Had to "edit" / add one other comment 👍
Almost every "customer" there was SUPER rude -- No smiles, no hello's-- A couple of people were super nice / fun ....
Employees were not so nice either, sadly 😔
The workers are so rude and not helpful. You ask anyone for help and they're like idk may this area you ask customers service for help and Asian lady is in front of a literal computer and she can look it up in her system shes like go ask some around groceries. The people in cheese sections where just talk amongst themselves and had no idea what was there or a way to direct me. I was literally up the street at the stop and shop people who get paid less are willing to go out of the way to help. This is the worst whole foods I've been to they don't have a great selection. I lived in Florida where they have many whole foods and they at least help and are polite and they have a wine bar and a lot better of selection will not be going back to this place. I only gave them two stars because it was clean and organized like all the whole foods should be
Been shopping here for 3 years, nice staff and clean. But do not go late night, you risk not finding some items, bananas, strawberry, some other items were missing. I guess that's the case for other groceries stores anyways.
Couple of lumps on the head for the Andover store.
I can’t eat raw tomato. Love their Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, which has cranberry sauce and NO tomato. Was in the store last Tuesday, 20 miles away, and when I got home settled down to enjoy my sandwich. Which promptly went into the trash. No cranberry dressing and 4 slices of tomato lurking under the bread. A real disappointment for a $9 sandwich!
Also purchased a stuffed pork chop, at Butcher Boy in N Andover, it’s an actual thick pork chop, split almost completely down the middle and filled with stuffing. at Whole Foods, it’s a very different story. Instead of a chop, it appears to be a rolled strip of pork loin sandwiched with dressing and the entire outside covered with a thick strip of fat…tied with a string to hold it together. I weighed the meat after cooking, and the inedible fat portion weighed the same as the loin strip. Very disappointing.
I was there this week. It is still expensive. Almost no visible benefits from having been bought by Amazon.
Customer service is sporadic. It would be my last choice to go shopping there..
It feels that the aisles are more crammped.
I was there today and nothing has changed. Only two samples. The signs for 10% are huge, but number of items that this discount applies are indeed few as evident by my pictures. The place is good for a walk on a cold evening.
I do not recommend it. It is overrated.
